Job Description

The purpose of this role is to: 

1.) Manage and support the team responsible for the monthly reconciliation of fuel balance sheet general ledger accounts.

2.) Act as "reviewer" for these accounts, ensuring reconciliations are completed timely, to the standard of the Pilot Balance Sheet Reconciliation Policy and in the appropriate format.

3.) Utilize technological tools to measure, track and report on the resolution of account balances.

4.) Drive collaboration cross-functionally to allow the team to research and resolve aging balances and correct inaccurate entries. 

5.) Lead efforts to streamline and improve the account reconciliation processes utilizing automation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • 5 - 8+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on fuel, energy, transportation, or commodity accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls required
  • Experience with ERP systems and fuel management systems
  • Knowledge of federal and state fuel tax reporting
  • Continuous improvement mindset and process optimization experience
