Job Description

Specialist, team member relations supports a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace by addressing employee
relations concerns, conducting investigations, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures. This role works closely with HR Business Partners, managers, and team members to resolve workplace issues, ensure consistent policy application, and promote positive team member experience.

Essential Functions:

Employee Relations Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations inquiries, including workplace concerns, performance issues, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
  • Respond to team members concerns with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
  • Support managers and team members through sensitive situations while ensuring consistency and fairness.

Investigations & Case Management

  • Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into HR employee relations concerns.
  • Gather and analyze information through interviews, documentation review, and fact-finding.
  • Prepare clear, well-documented investigation summaries and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case files in accordance with company and legal requirements.

Policy & Compliance

  • Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and guidelines consistently across the organization.
  • Ensure employee relations actions align with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Escalate complex, high-risk, or sensitive cases to senior HR or Legal partners as appropriate.

Manager & Team Member Guidance

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to managers on performance management, corrective action, and team member conduct.
  • Support team members by explaining policies, procedures, and available resources.
  • Assist with documentation related to corrective actions, performance plans, and terminations.

Training & Prevention

  • Support delivery of employee relations and workplace conduct training.
  • Identify recurring employee relations trends and flag opportunities for proactive education or process improvements.

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Talent, People Operations, and Legal to support consistent employee relations practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ER processes, tools, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, employee relations or related field preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in human resources related field preferred
  • General knowledge of all company policies
  • General knowledge of federal and state laws concerning labor relations
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to remain objective, calm, tactful and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
  •  Ability to communicate and interact effectively with different levels of the organization to negotiate, problem solve, complete projects and influence decision making
  • Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and within teams in order to establish and meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior including but not limited to confidentiality
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as needed
